Everything we teach

Every class at Centre Pointe belongs to one of four tracks. Find the style you are looking for, then read the track it sits in.

Four tracks, ages two and up.

01 · Children’s Program

Introduces young dancers to the joy of movement. Creative movement, ballet fundamentals, tap and an early taste of hip hop, taught with patience, structure and a lot of laughing.

Ages 2+

02 · Centre Track

A solid foundation for the aspiring dancer. Ballet alongside tap, jazz and hip hop, building the strength, musicality and vocabulary every other style is written in.

Recreational to advanced

03 · Classical Track

Traditional technique held to a traditional standard. Graded ballet, pointe by teacher approval, and the Youth America Grand Prix pathway.

Pre-professional

04 · Performance Track

Our troupe rehearses and performs as a company: jazz, contemporary, lyrical, musical theater, modern, ballet and acro.

Common questions

How young can my dancer start?

Age two. Our Toddler and Creative Movement classes are designed for dancers who are brand new to a studio: short, playful and structured around what a two- or three-year-old can do.

What should my dancer wear to class?

Requirements vary by program and style. Leotard colors, tights, shoes and hair are all specified on the class attire page.

How do we register?

Registration runs through our parent portal, where you can see open classes, enroll, and manage your account. If you would rather talk it through first, call 410-335-4409.

When can a dancer start pointe?

Pointe work is introduced by teacher approval only. Readiness depends on strength, alignment and training history rather than age or eagerness.

Do you offer anything besides weekly classes?

Yes. Birthday parties for ages 2 through 13, and the pre-professional programming supported by our nonprofit, MCDA.
