Ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, acro and pointe, taught in six studios in White Marsh, Maryland. Recreational through pre-professional, for dancers age two and up.
Susan R. Joines founded Centre Pointe Performing Arts in 1983. Four decades on, we are still on Pulaski Highway in White Marsh, teaching families from White Marsh, Perry Hall, Nottingham, Baltimore County and Harford County.
Our six dedicated studios cater to every dance need, so there is a right space for everyone: the two-year-old in their first creative movement class, the Centre Track dancer working through tap and jazz, and the pre-professional student in pointe shoes preparing for an audition.
Four tracks, from a first plié to pre-professional training. Not sure where your dancer belongs? Call us. Getting a dancer into the right class is the part we care most about.
Creative movement, ballet fundamentals, tap and first hip hop.
Ages 2+
Ballet, tap, jazz and hip hop build the technical foundation.
Recreational → Advanced
Graded ballet, pointe by teacher approval, and YAGP.
Pre-professional
Our troupe: jazz, contemporary, lyrical, musical theater and acro.
Troupe & CompetitionOur dress rehearsal and recitals are held at Goucher College, in a real theatre with real lights, for dancers of every age and track.
Recital and dress rehearsal dates are announced in the spring and posted to Studio News. We also celebrate our 10-year dancers each year: students taking the stage for their tenth Centre Pointe recital.
Our Performance Track troupe competes and attends conventions through the season, and our dancers have brought home titles.

“After trying four dance studios in the Baltimore area, we have finally landed at our perfect studio home. At Centre Pointe Performing Arts, my daughters are receiving the best dance instruction in an extremely professional environment. All of the teachers, including the owner herself, are educated in dance and have dance backgrounds. More importantly, these teachers love children and teaching, and that is clearly evidenced each week in class. CPPA’s recital was a seamless, stress-free production leaving me excited for many years and performances to come!”
“My daughter was new to dance last year and is part of mini-troupe this year. Seeing her growth through her amazing teachers has been incredible to watch! Nicolle is very patient with smaller children and they adore her. I’m excited to see how my daughter continues to grow with her fellow CPPA dancers!”
“Our daughter had her first recital at 2.5 years old this month and she had such a blast! Ms Nicolle I cannot rave enough about. She is so amazing with the little ones. Our daughter has had so much fun and gain so many new skills from classes here. We are excited for the next season!”
“Love the studio, have so for years! The instructors are highly skilled, knowledgeable staff and the dancers are more like family. Pleasant and welcoming environment!! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a future in dance near or far!”
“If you want to send your child to a dance studio that pushes them to become the best person they can be then this is your place! The teachers truly care about your child and not just as a dancer. Every teacher pushes them to really find themselves and become the best person they can be inside and out. The teacher talent is top notch!…”
Registration runs through the parent portal, returning families first, then new families. If you would rather talk it through, call the studio and we will help you find the right class.
